Process
Speech therapy is new to most families. Here is a brief overview of how to get started.
1.
Do you have a need?
DOCTOR REFERRAL
Most clients have already spoken to their pediatrician and have been recommended speech therapy. Insurance will often require a doctor referral to approve therapy.
2.
Is treatment covered?
INSURANCE
Be sure to talk to your insurance company to learn if and how speech therapy treatment is covered.
3.
Learning about treatment.
EVALUATION
Schedule a meeting for an evaluation, learn more about speech therapy, and make sure I’m a good fit. I will address any concerns and determine areas to evaluate in order to create a complete assessment.
4.
Let's get started.
TREATMENT PLAN
After the evaluation, I will provide a recommended treatment plan to achieve the goals we create together.
Intentional Play
By putting your child in a purposeful situation where they need to express themselves to get what they want, the play becomes therapy. We learn through experience and by creating positive and motivating opportunities so that the child doesn't even realize they're learning.
